Themes & Activities

General:

Every week has a new fun theme for example “All about me”, “Colours”, “Nursery Rhymes”, “Animals” etc.

Monday-Wednesday we do an individual fun theme related, creative and age-appropriate craft. Our crafts help to enhance and improve their fine and gross motor skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement.

Our playground is equipped wonderful developmental equipment, which allows for essential physical development, stimulating their imagination and exploration.

Our playground also has a “Secret Muddy Corner” which provides so many amazing developmental benefits through play where the Hug Buggies get to experiment with all the natural rocks, mud, sticks, soil and other natural materials.

Educational Activities:

We provide a wide range of educational activities in a fun and creative way which are stipulated in the reports. Activities include things such as puzzles, threading, cutting etc. as well a encouragement to learn about new responsibilities and gaining independence.

Weekly Themes:

Mondays: We explore and discover.

This gives the little ones an opportunity to explore in our forest feel garden, filled with beautiful trees, for example picking up pecan nuts, finding lady bugs, picking lemons or discovering something new about themselves.

Tuesdays: Drama Kiddies.

Our principle Anja is a qualified drama teacher, and has been offering the extra mural for years. It involves role playing, dressing up, nursery rhymes, dancing, games, imagination, confidence building, understanding their emotions and so much more and is included in the school fees.

Wednesdays: Baking ranging from sweet to savory.

Our little one’s love baking Wednesday where they get the opportunity to create fun savory or sweet edible art.

Thursdays: Sensory/messy play fun.

This ranges from moon-sand, shaving cream, flour, foam, seeds, water beads and so much more. Sensory/messy play enhances learning through hands-on activities that stimulate your little one’s senses. This is a great way for children to explore the world they live in. Sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills and social interaction.

Fridays: Music and dancing with water play in the summer and bubble day the winter

Water play consists of filling containers with bubble bath, playing with sponges, water toys and running through sprinklers. We have endless fun on colder days with our bubble machine.
